## Get your bearings

After creating your factory, Rumata opens its workspace inside the selected project.

Find your product name at the top and your conversation on the left. On the right, switch between [Preview Mode](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-preview#navigation) and [System Explorer](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/system-explorer).

Wait for startup to finish, then open [Preview Mode](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-preview#navigation) on the right with the chat still visible.

> **Check your result**
> Follow the build in the chat and try your application in the preview. The preview may be empty while Rumata is planning or building.

Use the chat on the left to shape your application and Preview on the right to see it take shape.

## Answer questions and review your plan

Before building your application, Rumata helps you turn your idea into a clear development plan.

Rumata may ask a few questions to better understand what you want to build, such as your application's features, users, or design preferences.

1. Read the questions in the chat.
2. Select an answer from the available options or type your own response.
3. Click Send Answer to continue.
4. Repeat if Rumata asks additional questions.

Once Rumata has enough information, it will prepare a development plan for your application.

Before development begins, take a moment to review what Rumata proposes to build.

Check that the plan includes your application's main features, intended users, and any important requirements you mentioned.

When you're ready, choose one of the following:

- Looks good, continue: Approve the plan and move forward with development.
- I'd like changes: Request adjustments before approving the plan.

You can ask Rumata to refine the plan until it matches what you have in mind.

> **Check your result**
> Once you approve the plan, Rumata can proceed with building your application.

## Add a file to the conversation

Use [Add to chat](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-chat#references) to give Rumata a file for context.

Find [Add to chat](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-chat#references) beside the chat input in your workspace.

1. Choose Add to chat, then select Upload from computer and choose your file.
2. Check the attached filename and write what Rumata should use from it.
3. Send the message. Cancel the file picker if you do not want to attach a file.

> **Check your result**
> The sent message should contain the attachment. If it does not, attach it again and wait for upload to finish before resending. Ask Rumata to use the specification before approving a revised plan.

## Choose your preferred AI model

With Rumata, you're not locked into a single AI provider. You have the flexibility to choose the AI model that best fits your needs and the way you want to build.

Different models have different strengths, whether you're generating code, solving complex problems, or making quick changes to your application.

1. Open your Rumata factory workspace.
2. Find the AI model selector in the chat interface.
3. Browse the available models and select the one you want to use.
4. Continue building with your selected model.

You can switch between available models as your needs change, giving you more control over your development experience.

> **Good to know**
> Rumata supports multiple AI providers, so you're free to choose the model that works best for your project. Model availability, pricing, and usage may vary depending on your selection.

> **Check your result**
> Your selected AI model should appear in the model selector, ready to assist with your next request.

> **Please note**
> Each AI provider and model has its own pricing, which may vary based on the model selected and the number of tokens used. More advanced models may cost more per request, so we recommend checking the model's pricing before making your selection.

Rumata does not add a markup to AI token costs.

## Come back to the same work

Reopen an existing application without starting another one.

How to continue working on an application

1. Go to [Home](https://app.rumata.dev/).
2. Find the factory containing the application you want to continue working on.
3. Click the factory to reopen your workspace.
4. If needed, select a previous conversation from the chat sidebar to pick up where you left off.

> **Check your result**
> Expected result: the existing conversation and application reopen. If the factory is missing, check the selected account and project access before creating a duplicate.
