## Open Usage

From [Home](https://app.rumata.dev/), choose [Usage](https://app.rumata.dev/usage) in the sidebar. From a workspace, open the account menu and choose [Usage Dashboard](https://app.rumata.dev/usage). The usage screen opens with the account’s current plan and resource summaries.

## Read the allowance and consumption

Expand [All plan allowances](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) to view the resource list. Find the resource you want to check, such as shared backend/activity runtime, builds, database capacity, retained workspace storage, or file storage. Each has its own meter. Compare the used and remaining amounts, and check the displayed period or reset. Different allowances measure different things. For database capacity, open [Hosted database details](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) and review the panel. [Compute activity](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) shows resource activity; choose the relevant [Usage period](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) before comparing totals.

The [billing account](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/billing#account)’s projects share its allowances. Adding another factory or teammate does not create a new allowance.

![Expanded All plan allowances list in Rumata Usage, with separate meters for activity runtime, builds, and development machines.](https://docs.rumata.dev/media/manual/usage.jpg)

Open [All plan allowances](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) to check each meter. Reaching one allowance does not mean you’ve reached the others.

<a id="limit"></a>

## If you reach a limit

Read the message to identify the resource. Depending on that allowance, you may need to wait for a reset, reduce usage, stop unused resources, or change your plan. [Quotas explained](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/billing) · [Usage screen controls](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing).
