Start with an idea and let Rumata prepare your workspace.

## What you’ll have at the end

## Start with a prompt

Describe the application you want to create in your own words.

On [Home](https://app.rumata.dev/), select the large prompt box. The Send arrow beside it submits the prompt.

Explain who the app is for, the main task they should accomplish, and the essential features for a first version. Press [Shift + Return](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-home-account#first-prompt-controls) to add another line.

Optional wording you can adapt:

```text
Build an app for [audience] to [main task]. Start with [essential features]. It should [important behavior or constraints]. Plan the first version before building it and ask about anything unclear.
```

> Your prompt remains a draft until you send it. If nothing appears in the conversation, complete the project and Send steps below.

## Your project is selected automatically

Every factory is created within a project. Rumata selects the project automatically for you.

## Keep the first request in Plan mode

Review Rumata’s approach before building begins.

On Home, find the Plan or Build toggle beside Select project. Selecting it changes the mode directly.

Keep Plan selected for your first application. If the toggle shows Build, select it to switch to Plan.

> Rumata will plan first when you send your prompt. [Factory Settings](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-factory#factory-details) is beside the prompt controls and is optional for this walkthrough.

## Add useful context

Include the details that matter to your application.

Add your requirements to the [Home](https://app.rumata.dev/) prompt. You can attach files to this first prompt too, such as a specification, reference image, or supporting document.

Describe your requirements and attach any files you want Rumata to use as context before sending your first prompt.

> Your first prompt includes your requirements and attached files. You can add more files later in the workspace chat.

## Create the factory and submit your prompt

Check your prompt and selected project before sending.

Use the [Send](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-home-account#first-prompt-controls) arrow to submit your prompt. It becomes available once the required input is complete and Rumata is ready.

1. Check the project, Plan mode, and prompt text.
2. Select Send once and wait for the factory workspace to open.
3. Check the conversation for your submitted message; typing text without sending it does not start a build.

> **Check your result**
> The new factory opens inside the selected project. Wait for its development machine to connect, then continue to [Work in Your Project](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/workspace). If Send stays disabled, check the prompt and selected project; if startup fails, use the [preview troubleshooting steps](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/troubleshooting#preview).

During startup, Rumata prepares the workspace before the preview becomes usable. Wait for the chat and preview to connect.
