## Before you start

- Open the named screen in Rumata. Available controls may depend on your account, permissions, and resource state.

## Buckets and file navigation

Open [System Explorer](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-preview#navigation) → [Storage](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-storage#browse). A bucket is a container for files; an object key is a file’s full path inside it.

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Refresh / Retry | Reload bucket and file information, or retry a failed file listing. A read-limit error means you should wait before retrying. |
| Bucket card | Select a bucket and return its browser to the root. The card shows used space and transfer allowance. |
| Collapse buckets / expand buckets | Hide or show the bucket list to make more space. |
| Deselect bucket | Clear the current bucket selection. |
| Copy storage ID | Copy the selected bucket’s identifier for a workflow or support request. |
| Root / breadcrumb folder | Navigate to the bucket root or an ancestor folder. |
| Folder row / Open folder in its context menu | Open the chosen folder. |
| Filter this folder | Narrow the objects shown in the current folder. It is not a search across every bucket. |
| Key / Size / Modified / Status headings | Sort the displayed folder contents by that column. |
| Bucket actions → Update quota | Open the capacity form for this bucket. |
| Bucket actions → Manage access | Review which groups can use the bucket and what they may do. |
| New bucket | Rumata creates factory storage automatically. This browser does not support manual bucket creation. |

Reference capture from the separate Sabai Talk Thai application (September 8, 2026). This storage is empty. [Upload](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-storage#write-upload) adds a file; [Overwrite off](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-storage#write-upload) is the current upload setting. Read the storage reference before replacing files.

## Preview, download, and share

Select a file row to open its preview. Hover over the row to make the action icons more visible, or use the same file actions in the context menu.

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| File row / Preview | Open a supported image, text, audio, video, PDF, or HTML preview. |
| Render / Source for HTML | Switch between the rendered document and its source text. |
| Audio / video playback controls | Play, pause, seek, and adjust playback using the browser’s media controls where supported. |
| Preview close icon | Close the preview. On smaller work areas the preview and operations panel can replace one another. |
| Download / Download instead | Save the file to your computer. [Download instead](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-storage#preview-share) is available when its preview cannot load. |
| Generate temporary URL | Open Share file. Anyone holding a generated link can read the file until expiry; transfers still count against the bucket allowance. |
| Valid for slider | Choose a lifetime from 1 to 15 minutes, initially 15. Changing the selection clears the displayed generated link. |
| Create share link | Request the temporary URL with your selected lifetime. A permission failure appears inside the dialog. |
| Copy link | Copy the newly generated URL. Share it only with its intended recipients. |
| Close Share file | Dismiss the dialog and clear its displayed link. Closing the dialog does not revoke a link already issued. |

## Upload and write files

Open Upload or Show operations panel. Check the target bucket and destination key before submitting.

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Show / Hide operations panel | Open or close the upload, text-writing, and move forms. |
| Upload / Upload here | Select the upload form, using the current folder as its destination prefix. |
| Drop files or click to select | Choose a local file. Dropping a local file into the browser prepares it for upload; [Queue upload](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-storage#write-upload) submits it. |
| Destination key | Choose the stored file path. A value ending in / keeps the original filename under that folder. A full filename replaces it; an empty value uses the original name. |
| Overwrite off / on | Choose whether upload, text-write, and form-based move operations may replace an existing destination. It starts off. |
| Queue upload | Upload the selected file. Disabled without a selected bucket or file, or while uploading. |
| Put object / Put text object | Open the form for creating a text file directly. |
| Object key / Content | Enter the file path and text contents. |
| Write object | Write the text to storage, using the overwrite setting. |
| New folder / New folder inside | Open a folder-name dialog from the blank-area or folder context menu. |
| Folder name / Create | Create the named folder marker. Cancel, Close, or Escape dismisses it; Enter submits the name if it is not empty. |

## Move, rename, and delete

These operations change stored files. A move copies the file, verifies its checksum, and then deletes the source.

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Move / rename on a file | Open the move form with the source and destination prefilled. Change the destination to the new path. |
| Source key / Destination key | Identify the existing file and its new full path within the bucket. |
| Move object | Submit the move using the global overwrite setting. Disabled without both paths or while a move is running. |
| Drag an existing file into a folder | Move the file directly. In the current application this path enables overwrite even when the global toggle is off, so a matching destination may be replaced. Use the move form when you need explicit overwrite control. |
| Delete / Delete in a file’s context menu | Open permanent-deletion confirmation. |
| File name confirmation | Type the final filename shown in the dialog exactly, without its folder prefix. |
| Delete file | Permanently delete the selected file once the name matches. Enter in the confirmation field can also submit. |
| Cancel / Close / Escape | Leave the deletion form without deleting the file. |

## Bucket quota dialog

Quota is reserved capacity for the bucket. It differs from the number of bytes currently stored.

| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| New bucket quota number / slider | Choose a larger total allocation in whole MiB within the account’s remaining allowance. |
| Increase quota to … | Apply the selected larger quota. Disabled when no increase is selected or while the change is pending. |
| Close | Dismiss the quota form without applying the selection. |
