# Usage & pricing controls
Read the usage dashboard, compare plan options, and understand exactly which actions change billing.

## Before you start
- Open the named screen in Rumata. Available controls may depend on your account, permissions, and resource state.
## Usage dashboard
Expanding a panel or changing the displayed history period is read-only. The figures belong to the account named on the page.
| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Hosted database details | Expand database state, storage used, remaining ready time, and recovery information. Collapse it to return to the summary. |
| All plan allowances | Expand the complete list of allowances. Check whether each value represents usage this period, currently active resources, a maximum per action, or capacity per resource. |
| Usage period | Choose [Last 7 days](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels), [Last 30 days](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels), or [Last 90 days](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) for compute history. This does not change the subscription’s billing period. |
| History and technical totals | Expand runtime hours, CPU core-hours, memory GiB-hours, and daily compute allocation. |
| Runtime / CPU / Memory | Switch the metric shown in the daily compute chart. Use the chart’s labels and selected period when interpreting the values. |
| Plan and billing details | Expand the current plan, features, status, and available upgrade link. |
| Upgrade Plan | Open [Pricing](https://app.rumata.dev/pricing). No subscription change occurs just by following this link. |
Open [All plan allowances](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#usage-panels) to check each meter. Reaching one allowance does not mean you’ve reached the others.
## AI credit packs
Credit packs add Rumata-managed model usage to a paid plan. They are separate from changing the subscription tier.
| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Credit pack amount buttons | Select the pack to purchase. Compare the AI credit amount and the amount you will pay; the page shows both. Selection alone does not charge you. |
| Add [amount] AI credits | Start checkout for the selected credit pack. Complete checkout only after confirming that the amount matches what you intend to buy. |
| Currently available balance | Read the current AI credit balance before purchasing more. This is a display, not a spending limit control. |
## Subscription choices
[Pricing](https://app.rumata.dev/pricing) has separate [Infrastructure only](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#plan-choices) and [Infra + AI](https://docs.rumata.dev/guides/controls-billing#plan-choices) sections. Check the selected plan and machine option together.
| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Add a Rumata development machine | On an infrastructure-only plan, select whether to include development-machine hours. The displayed price changes to show the selected package. It is not applied until you take the plan-change action. |
| Current subscription | Identify the plan you already have. The disabled button prevents selecting the same current subscription again. |
| Upgrade | Request the selected plan change. It may update an existing subscription or open checkout. Review the resulting confirmation and account state. |
| Downgrade | Request a move to the selected lower plan. Read when the change will take effect and how the lower allowances affect your resources. |
| Scheduled next cycle | Show a plan change already scheduled for the next cycle. It is not an action to apply that plan immediately. |
| Cancel subscription | Open a confirmation asking whether to cancel at the end of the current billing cycle. Confirming schedules cancellation; cancelling the dialog leaves the subscription as it is. |
| Contact sales | Open the contact page for custom capacity or commercial terms. Opening the page does not order a custom plan. |

## Loading, confirmation, and errors
Use the final account state to determine whether a billing action completed.
| Control | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Loading or disabled purchase button | Wait for the in-progress billing request. Repeated clicks are disabled to avoid starting overlapping requests. |
| Scheduling cancellation… | The cancellation request is being processed. Wait for its success or error message. |
| Subscription activation pending message | Payment may have completed while activation is still being confirmed. Refresh shortly and check the account before starting another purchase. |
| Refresh the page after a billing error | Recheck the actual plan, pending change, or balance before retrying. If the state is unclear, contact Rumata with the non-sensitive error message. |
